Is This Thing Cursed? is the 9th album from Chicago's Alkaline Trio. Vocalist and bassist Dan Andriano explained that "the songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day… I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig." The lyrics take stabs at what's going on in the world—2016 presidential election, Fyre Festival (lol)—as well as more internal topics like depression, and the Chicago Trio addresses the themes with youthful fervor & passion reminiscent of its earlier works. Songs to check out include: "Demon and Division," "Goodbye Fire Island," "Blackbird," "Is This Thing Cursed?" and "I Can't Believe."
