The site of the last horizons, the minion seek to resurrect a God. High On Fire's insanely heavy 4th full length gets a special edition repress courtesy of Relapse! Originally released in 2007, Death Is This Communion is the further evolution of HOF's brand of brazen sludge metal, now with Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana) replacing Steve Albini on production duties. Once again, frontman Matt Pike (former guitarist of Sleep) takes heavy inspiration from the work of H.P. Lovecraft for lyrical content in creating the dark and turbid atmosphere. Also worth noting that Death Is This Communion is the first HOF album to feature former Holy Terror bassist Jeff Matz. This 2018 reissue comes on swamp green with bone white splatter colored vinyl, and is limited to 1,245 copies.
