Modern kings of Soul bring holiday cheer. Brooklyn's Daptone Records has been churning out the truest soul music recordings for the last decade and some change. The star of the show, one Ms. Sharon Jones, has had up and downs in life, most recently overcoming cancer, is at this point soul sister number one. Following up last year's Grammy nominated 'Give The People What They Want', Ms. Jones and the Dap Kings pay tribute to the most cheerful time of the year. Opening with a killer original tune '8 Days (Of Hannukah)' the band sets the tone and they are not messing around. Deep soul, funk, ballads, and all things blessing the holiday spirit. Pressed on limited edition candy cane striped vinyl, Santa came early this year.
