Originally released in 1997, Nothing Feels Good is the sophomore album from The Promise Ring. After showcasing a raw, coming-into-form sound with the 1995 project 30 Degrees Everywhere, the Milwaukee, Wisconsin band presents a decidedly more polished, punk-pop-leaning LP, but Nothing Feels Good still teems with the youthful, freewheeling energy that made the band a hit in the first place. After more than 20 years, it's easy to hear why nothing Feels Good (and The Promise Ring) has developed such a cult-like following, it's a quintessential emo record that contains gems like "Why did Ever We Meet," "B Is For Bethlehem," "Red & Blue Jeans," and "Is This thing On?."
